In the echoes of Revelation, a voice proclaimed, "They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;"... These words of hope, resonate with my journey.
I am Jason Nutt. Once, I was deeply entrenched in the throes of alcoholism, a life riddled with lies and self-indulgence. I wore the cloak of irresponsibility, blinding myself to my duties. I frequented rehabs, a myriad of failed attempts, until, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, I found redemption.
Transformed, I embraced a new purpose. Nearly 15 years ago now, I embarked on a path of sobriety, a long, winding, path, that had many pitfalls and moments of despair and lonliness.
I am not proud to say, but say boldly, to display the miraculous change, that I have walked the lonely roads of the 4 am street walker. Looking for more...more of whatever it was I was looking for.
What that more was, I would not have ever been able to tell you, just something that was missing and nothing I could find on my own or any high would fulfill.
After so many failed attempts at rehab, one faithful night at the Salvation Army Adult Recovery Center for men, I got down on these knees of mine and said, "Well, If this "Jesus" is who everyone is trying to tell me that He is, YOU are going to have to MAKE me believe it. I don't believe you. You'll need to change my mind..."
